1/29/14 -- The Ohio Safety Congress & Expo features a multitude of topics to address a variety of industry training and education needs. To assist Ohio employers in determining what sessions will help them move forward on their Pathway to Safety, we created flyers with sessions applicable to targeted audiences. The flyers do not reflect all topics pertaining to a certain industry. Beyond what is featured, many other sessions may apply.

12/17/13 -- If you suspect someone is committing fraud against the Ohio Bureau of Workers'Compensation, their special investigations department is waiting to discuss your concerns and investigate those who may be defrauding the State Insurance Fund. 10/8/13 -- On September 18, the Lorain County Safety Council heard a presentation on Substance Abuse in the workplace and at home, including Operation Medicine Cabinet. The presentation was very well received and we are glad to post the PowerPoint presentation used by our presenters: Detective Gregg Mehling from the Lorain County Drug Task Force and Nancy Pommerening from Drug Awareness & Prevention Inc. We hope to make this presentation a yearly event.
7/5/13 -- It was announced in May that the BWC will be sending back $1 Billion dollars to the businesses, municipalities and institutions that have paid their BWC bills. Due to higher than anticipated returns on the investments, the Administrator and Governor have decided to return these dollars. Here is a video with some information regarding this process. Checks will be received in the mail over the next 3 weeks. Some businesses have already received their check!
2/21/13 -- The Lorain County Safety Council will hold OSHA 10 and 30 hour classes at the County Administration Building. (10 hour May 1 & 2); 30 hour starts with those 2 days and goes additionally on May 7, 8, 9). Cost for Chamber members is $95 for the 10 hour and $165 for the 30 hour. Lunch is included and free parking is available in the County Administration Building garage. There is an additional cost for Non-Lorain County Chamber members. Register today: OSHA 10/30 Hour
